Year in Review

It’s the new year already.  Happy new year! 2011 good-bye, and hello 2012. When I look back, I guess 2011 wasn’t too bad a year. Pretty exciting actually. I finished my under-grad, and now I’m studying in England. I travelled a bit, from India to New York. Did Camping as usual in the summer. Moved to a new place by the lake.  I would say the year was more on revelations. A lot happened and a lot didn’t. It makes me wonder what will 2012 bring. I usually look to how I spend the first day of the year to answer that question. In 2011, my first day of the year was spent with family, as we travelled to India. 2011 was about family. Pretty sweet year but with many confusions! It was probably the year of confusions and melt-downs and post-grad-crisis. Eventful, but something I guess you need to grow as an individual.

2012 was brought in as I was sitting in the living room watching Wake up Sid. I guess a pretty good movie when you feel like your stuck. I would assume you have your life sorted when your off studying aboard, but I guess I have my moments, when I wonder if I’m doing the right thing. The morning was with family as we celebrated my cousin’s birthday, then off on a flight to Cuba si! Cuba was amazing, but it could have been hotter. The weather was mostly below 20 degrees. I guess ’cause I’m use to Indian summers maybe my definition of hot is different, but it’s not hot until its 30 degrees outside and I have lemonade in my hand the whole time. It was cloudy and then windy. Maybe the wind comes with the sea-side resort deal, but the sun could have def been out more! For a first time resort experience, it was pretty nice though. :) Learned a lot, like pick a place that doesn’t face the Atlantic, ’cause then the cold water comes in. Always pack a pair of sweats cause it gets cold in the tropics. Oh, and need to become a stronger swimmer so I can go snorkelling. We couldn’t go this time because the weather was bad, too windy causing the waves to be crazy! But this just gives me time to work up from average swimmer to strong swimmer. :) I guess the cloudy weather from England followed me to Toronto the to Cuba LOL Now I’m back for a week, and then I’m out on Friday back to England.

This year I have a feeling will be of good movies, good food, family, strengthening bonds, studying and travel. Looks pretty good to me :) Would you believe it, I took my textbook with me to study on the plane…didn’t work out well. :P
